Randstad is partnering with a Federal Government Agency to recruit for two EL1 Assistant Director – Strategic Pricing positions. These roles are critical in delivering robust economic research and pricing policy to ensure the sustainability of the human services market.

Assignment Overview

  • Pay Rate: $602.55 per day (excluding super).
  • Location: Flexible / National. Candidates can be based in Richmond, Geelong, or NSW, with access to offices nationally and flexible hybrid working arrangements, Full-Time

Role Responsibilities

Working within the Strategic Pricing Advisory team, you will lead work to deliver evidence-based decision-making on complex economic and pricing policies. Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Leading Projects: Managing and contributing to the Annual Pricing Review and leading discrete pricing and consultation projects.
  • Economic Modelling: Applying statistical methods and research to large datasets to understand market functions and propose improvements.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Building strong relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders, experts, and academics.
  • Policy Development: Developing robust pricing frameworks and providing strategic advice to senior leadership regarding the "care economy".
  • Strategic Impact: Influencing the allocation of Scheme resources projected to grow significantly over the coming years.

Key Selection Criteria

The ideal candidate will possess a "quantitative mindset" and the ability to solve qualitative problems within a changing legislative environment.

  • Analytical Skills: Superior problem-solving skills applied to complex pricing and economic issues.
  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to handle and analyze data, with technical skills to communicate findings to diverse audiences.
  • Strategic Thinking: Experience in the development of pricing policies and analytical frameworks.
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to work well within a team while maintaining the ability to work independently.
  • Education/Experience: A bachelor's degree or higher in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Public Policy is highly desirable.

  • Clearances: Successful candidates must undergo a National Criminal History Records Check and possess any clearances required to undertake the duties of the assignment.
